One Man, Two Guvnors Trailer

This smash-hit comedy was nominated for seven 2012 Tony Awards. Based on Carlo Goldoni’s classic Italian comedy The Servant of Two Masters, this new English version puts sex, food and money high on the agenda. Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes a servant to two different masters. Frazzled Francis tries his best to balance duties and keep his bosses from meeting, but what he doesn’t know about them, and what they don’t know about each other, quickly become uproarious and riotous cases of mistaken identities and slapstick antics in this laugh-out-loud award-winning comedy.

“With a blend of satire, songs, slapstick and chaos, One Man, Two Guvnors uses broad farce and bawdy humor as it thrusts the audience into a tale about a ragtag group of criminals and a case of mistaken identity,” said director Francine Thomas Reynolds. “Based on the Carlo Goldoni’s commedia dell’arte classic The Servant of Two Masters, playwright Richard Bean has crafted a modern play that is fast-paced and extremely physical with a lot of action on stage. We are proud to have assembled a highly talented ensemble cast to play the characters that guide the plot through a maze of missing money, a dead fiancé risen like Lazarus, family problems, spurned suitors and a guy who just wants to afford a plate of fish and chips.”

The cast includes Joseph Frost (Jackson) as Francis Henshall; Kerri Courtney Sanders (Brandon) as Rachel Crabbe, the first of Francis’s two employers; David Lind (Brooklyn, NY) as Stanley Stubbers, the second of Francis’s two employers; Loring Tharpe (Madison) as Pauline Clench and Patrick Moran (Jackson) as Alan Dangle, a pair of lovers forbidden to marry; and John Howell (Jackson) as Harry Dangle and Bill Ford Campbell (Pearl) as Charlie “The Duck” Clench, the lovers’ fathers. The cast is rounded out by Jessica Wilkinson (Florence) as Dolly, Yohance Myles (Jackson) as Lloyd, Augustus Bennett (Jackson) as Gareth, and Eric Eaton (Ridgeland) as Alfie. Campbell and Myles appear through the courtesy of the Actors’ Equity Association.
