2009 Summer Day Camp
Mini Day Camp
Rising Grades 1 - 5
June 8-19, 2009
Cost: $200 Early Bird
($250 after May 8)
 
What:  Two weeks of theatre instruction taught and directed by Education Director Chris Roebuck and other seasoned theatre veterans.  Students will be introduced to all the elements of theatre production in daily classes.  The culmination of the camp will be a showcase performance of the work that they have done at 11am on the final day of camp in the Hewes Room at New Stage Theatre.
 
Who:  The camp is open to youth who were enrolled in grades K - 4 in the 2008-09 school year.

When:  June 8 - 19, Monday through Friday, 9am to noon. 

Where:  The camp is located at New Stage Theatre, 1100 Carlisle Street where campers will have access to the stage, costuming, technical and lighting facilities.

Curriculum:  Camp participants will receive instruction in acting, improvisation, stage movement, musical theatre, dance, voice and diction, and auditioning.

 

Broadway Jr. Summer Camp Intensive
Rising Grades 6 - 12
June 22-July 19, 2009
Cost: $350 Early Bird
($450 After May 8)

What:  Four weeks of theatre instruction taught and directed by Education Director Chris Roebuck and other seasoned theatre veterans.  Students will be introduced to all the elements of theatre production in daily classes.  The culmination of the camp will be a fully-produced production of Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr., a Broadway Jr. musical presented for four performances on New Stage's main stage. 

Who:  The camp is open to youth who were enrolled in grades 5-11 in the 2008-09 school year.

When:  June 22 - July 19, Monday through Friday, 9am to 4 pm.

Where:  The camp is located at New Stage Theatre, 1100 Carlisle Street where campers will have access to the stage, costuming, technical and lighting facilities.

Curriculum:  Camp participants will receive instruction in acting, improvisation, stage movement, musical theatre, dance, voice and diction, and auditioning.
