LASHUNDA THOMAS (Acting Intern) has been making the world her stage for the last six years. She has been in numerous colligate theatre productions. Two of her most diverse roles include Hester La Negrita in In the Blood and Henrietta King in Do Lord Remember Me. She has also performed locally in the Jackson-Metropolitan area with J. Lee Productions in No Good Comes to Those Who Do Wrong. She also enjoys singing, volunteering and writing.
TYREE WALKER (Acting Intern) has recently earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of Montevallo. He recently worked at Lincoln Amphitheatre in their production of Lincoln: Upon the Altar of Freedom under the direction of Scott Lank. He is thrilled to be working at New Stage Theatre this season and looks forward to meeting all of you who attend this season.
SYDNEY BLACKWELL (Acting Intern) is thrilled to join New Stage Theatre as an intern for the 2010-2011 season! She is 20 years old and lives in Star, Mississippi. Sydney has previously appeared at New Stage as Jenny in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing (2008-2009) and as Emily in last season's production of Dividing the Estate by Horton Foote. Favorite roles include Mary the Maid in the Fondren Theatre Workshop production of The Bald Soprano, Magenta in the FTW production of The Rocky Horror Show, and Marta in the University of Southern Mississippi's production of Waiting for the Parade. Other roles include Betty Rizzo in Grease, Mona/Mary Sunshine in Chicago, and Babe the Magrath-Botrelle in Crimes of the Heart. Sydney also enjoys being involved in children's community theatre in the Jackson Metro area. She plans to move to New York to pursue a career in the theatre later next year.
DEEJAY GRAY (Directing Intern) comes to Mississippi all the way from Virginia, where he recently graduated from Radford University with a degree in Theatre. Deejay was born in Richmond, VA, where he was exposed to the arts at a very early age. He got “bit by the theatre bugâ€
