EDUCATION PROGRAM


New Stage's education program is designed to introduce young Mississippians to live theatre of substance and imagination. Included are a touring program, workshops for both teachers and students, acting classes, summer camps, and an internship program.  Additionally, New Stage enjoys a close relationship with Millsaps College and Belhaven College geared to augment its curriculum in theatre.

SUMMER CAMPS

Concentration, creativity, and cooperation are only a few of the valuable skills that are reinforced by participating in theatre arts. With a wide array of exercises and games, fun is guaranteed!

 

TOURING PRODUCTIONS 
During each school year, New Stage offers two touring productions to schools throughout the state.  During the 2011-12 academic year New Stage will tour elementary and middle schools with Charlotte's Web.  Junior high schools, high schools, and community college audiences should be enthralled with Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad

 

WORKSHOPS ON WHEELS

New Stage Theatre can provide workshops for all ages on a variety of performance topics.  

CLASSES 
Professional actors, directors, and educators come together to offer classes especially designed to be fun and fulfilling for youth, teen and adults.

PROFESSIONAL ACTING INTERN COMPANY
New Stage is committed to helping young theatre professionals gain the skills necessary to succeed in the world of professional theatre.
